Title |
ENCADRE – European Network of SatNav/Space Clusters for Application |
Development |
Duration |
Ongoing |
Objectives |
The aim of ENCADRE is to create significant |
added value from space and satellite navigation technologies for |
terrestrial applications and services. INI-Novation joined the |
consortium by signing an MoU on November 24th, 2007. The purpose |
of this MOU is to establish an informal European Platform to support |
the creation of a market strategy in the field of satellite based |
applications in general, but also in relation to Galileo, Europe’s own |
Global Navigation Satellite System. More specifically it will offer broad |
support for the creation of added value from space and satellite |
(navigation) technologies for terrestrial applications and services. |
To support this joint broadthinking in Europe a technology transfer |
programme will be established that will include a series of workshops |
across Europe. |
Activities |
INI-Novation will support the ENCADRE workshops which aim to: |
• Disseminate market opportunities for applications and services |
based on space technologies and global navigation satellite systems |
(GNSS) and other kind of electromagnetic or optical signals for potential |
users in non-space related markets |
• Assist solution developers in understanding the potential of the |
technologies, including the relation to competing ones, and/or their |
technological details; |
• Raise [demand expectation] with the solution developers' customers, |
ideally through an integrated approach encompassing the preceding bullet point; |
• Raise knowledge and understanding about the potential of the technology, |
and competing technologies, and complementary actors such as the media |
and financiers; |
